News From All Over

Lots of stuff going on, it's been a busy week.

I talked to Adam for about an hour on Saturday, he is flying out of Iraq on his birthday (March 13th). I am so excited, I can not wait to see him. He is hoping he will be back in time for Mike's moving in party, but he isn't coming to Nebraska right away, I think they're flying into Kansas, but I am not sure. I just can't wait to see him, we had another really good talk about life on Saturday, and I think once he gets home, he will feel better about everything. He will be home for good in a few months though, sometime between June and August. I will be able to sleep much easier knowing he is back home and not in that horrible place.

I registered with SubFinder on Friday finally after like, two months of waiting for all the paperwork to be completed and already have four subbing jobs - they called me within two hours of being registered. I am going to be in a 6th grade classroom, all four days are for the same teacher, so hopefully it will go more smoothly because we will be used to each other. Even though most of my experience in Teachers College has been with grades K-3, I tutored for three years at every grade level, so I am not too worried about it. I could never teach middle school full time though, I have no desire to do so whatsoever, I remember what my class was like, we made a teacher cry. Granted, she was a replacement who came in about a month into the school year, and she was mean, but that doesn't help much at all. I think only crazy people teach middle school. They have to be crazy to take that kind of punishment.

I am still very angry about the South Dakota abortion law. I refrained from talking about it for a couple days just because I get so worked up about it so easily, but I have been keeping up with what's going on and there is not a whole lot of news to report on it.

As if we needed more proof that Tundra is a pathetic waste of space, guess who has been lurking around my blog? And I say lurk because it is the best word to describe it. I am not sure if she thought that it would be difficult to figure out who the '...' was that responded to my Nohari Window, but she really isn't very intelligent anyway so who knows. I guess maybe she was hoping she would be mentioned, though I think that's sad and I almost feel sorry for her. Well, here is your big shout-out Tundra: Get a life.

Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday! Most people don't know that Fat Tuesday is the final day of the Mardi Gras celebration and think that tomorrow is just 'Mardi Gras'. Those people are dumb and I make fun of them. For the longest time I have wanted to go to New Orleans and party for all of Mardi Gras. This was the year I had seriously been checking into flights and hotels and all that stuff. Stupid Katrina, thanks for wreaking it. Granted, celebrating Mardi Gras in Lincoln, Nebraska (or anywhere in Nebraska for that matter) is obviously just a tad different from the real thing, but it is still a good time. We have gone out for the last two years and had such a blast, I am so excited to go tomorrow night. The Facebook event for it was created on kind of short notice, I only did it on Saturday - technically Sunday morning, but it will be a good time, and I feel bad for anyone who misses it. Well, except the lame people that don't deserve to hang out with us. I never feel bad for them.

I am looking for a new apartment because our lease is up on May 1st and none of us want to renew it, partially because none of us want to live together anymore and mostly because this place sucks and the management is horrible. The guy who owns it and used to manage it was cool, but then he hired a company to take over and they suck so bad. I have a couple places picked out, but I like where Teetz is at, not just because he lives there but because they're nice apartments. He has an efficiency but those come already furnished, which would definitely not work for me because I have too much stuff. We'll see what happens, but I have found a couple places that are definitely going to be options. I have to find good times to meet with the managers though, and I want Drake to go with me because there is always some question I forget to ask and he is good at remembering that kind of stuff.

I guess that's pretty much everything for now, work is still going really well because working in Copy and Print is still the best thing ever. Melissa and I had fun yesterday and pretty much goofed around, Sundays are usually a lot slower because it's not a business day, though little old ladies come in more and need help with running the copy machines. They're so cute.

Who's tundra? And wow, I didn't know you knew someone who was in Iraq. That would be so interesting to talk to him!

Tundra is this really horrible girl who is one of those psuedo-smart people and she thinks she is just the smartest girl ever. Last year Teetz and I had a bit of a falling out and she pretty much did whatever she could to keep us from speaking to one another even though she was pretending she was trying to help fix things. At one point she said to David that it was kind of like she was "the new Sarah" and did this annoying giggle thing she often does and even though he and I were not speaking he was just like, "Uh, no one can replace Sarah". Basically we think she was totally in love with Teetz and jealous that she would never be as good of friends with him as me. She sucks at life.

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT TONIGHT!!!!!!!!! I WILL DRINK SOMETHING FOR YOU, JUST MAKE A REQUEST :)

Also, yeah, Adam is a very good friend of mine, he has been there since last June and is stationed in Ramadi, yikes. Every time I hear about that place on the news, it makes me want to cry. But I just have to remember he will be home for good in a few months, just a few more months. It helps if I repeat that over and over.
